TEST NAME: COLOR FASTNESS TO PHENOLIC YELLOWING
METHOD: ISO 105 X18-2007 E





Suitable testing device (5±0.1 Kg weight, 60X115mm base, glass plates 100X40(±1)x3(±0.5)mm (set of seven pcs), incubator/oven (50±3˚C), impregnated test paper (100x75±2mm), control fabric (100x30±2mm), BHT free polythine (400x200±5mm, thickness 63µm), spectrophotometer, grey scale (A03) etc




Receiving the sample from bulk/R&D with required information
Cut 05 specimen each size of 100x30mm perfectly & size reconfirm by by measuring scale
Place the specimen in a single test paper & folded in half (same process apply for all test paper)
Make a sandwich with 7 glass paltes, 6 test papers, 5 specimen (or less) & 1 control fabric
Sealed a test package with BHT free polythine (3 layers)/adhesive tape & place into the perspirometer with pressure of 5±0.1kg (highest 3 test package)

Place the perspirometer in oven & start the program for 16h±15 min at 50±3˚C
After the program remove the device from oven & composite specimen from device
Firstly, immediately assess (within 30min) the staining of tested specimen as per grey scale (A03)/original swatch under suitable illumination also use spectrophotometer & assessment mask

Secondly, assess the control fabric to ensure it has yellowed (staining grade 3)
Technique establish for sample preparation & conduct process also use stopwatch, thermometer, hand gloves & other suportive device in required stage of accuracy

Make a test report in mentioning method, specimen details, numerical rating og each specimen, any deviation or option etc.
