Glauber Salt test

Glauber Salt test
Test process :
1.      First normal water hardness test. (Suppose 28 ppm.)
2.      Make 8% Glauber salt solution . Than test the solution hardness . (Suppose 36 ppm.)
3.      Than compare between water hardness and solution hardness.

Formula :

Glauber salt hardness = 8% Na2SO4 solution hardness – Water hardness.
 Such as : 36-28=8 ppm.

The salt is good.
If the salt hardness above 15ppm it will be not allowed.

Normally the salt hardness range is 4-15 ppm.
